About Me

Hi, friends!

I’m so excited to have you here! Welcome to this little corner of the internet.

If you’ve taken a gander around the site, you probably have a good idea of what I’m not. But if you’re interested in knowing what I am, well let me tell ya!

I’m a well-hydrated, under caffeinated, walking talking ball of nerves, but you can call me Kat. I have an undeniable urge to touch every pillow in the pillow aisle (I’m reformed now, thanks to the pandemic). I can eat Chinese takeout morning, noon, and night. And despite living in sunny California, I long for cold overcast days.

Hope you enjoy your time here and that you’ll stop by again!

Why Did I Start How to Player 2?

Usually, people write blogs because they are an expert in their niche. So you probably wonder why I’m even doing this if I am not an expert. And that is exactly why I started this, to give the perspective of someone who is just learning. A beginner’s perspective into the world of gaming and pop culture if you will.

When I first started dating my current boyfriend/partner, we connected on so many things like musicals and Disney, but as we got to know each other more, I realized that there were things that were completely foreign to me. And I realized that this is probably something that isn’t just happening to me but to all couples. You have different interests but you want to be supportive and try to learn about your partner’s interests.

And that is why I started this blog, because I wanted to learn more about the things he is passionate about because it’s something that is important to him. I may end up liking things or I may find that other things aren’t for me – and that’s perfectly okay. But I wanted to at least try.

And voila! A beautiful baby blog was born!

What Will I Be Trying?

Well to answer that, there is someone I need to introduce you to. Meet my boyfriend:

He is super into:

  • Video Games
  • Fantasy
  • Computers
  • Streaming
  • Table Top Games
  • Dungeons & Dragons
  • Magic the Gathering
  • Miniatures
  • Pop Culture
  • Comic Books
  • MCU & DCU
  • Anime

And out of everything listed, the only area that I know some about is video games and even then, my scope if knowledge is pretty narrow. I’m what he described as a “very casual gamer”. As for the rest, the amount of prior knowledge I had was zero, zilch, nada.

Which means this is all that I’m going to try and learn more about (and probably then some). I already know that there will be some things that will probably not be adopted as my personal lifelong hobbies, but who knows some things may surprise me!

Don’t worry, this is far from one sided, you can sure bet I’m going to introduce him to some of the things that I geek out over. After all, I may be Player 2 in his save file, but I’m Player 1 in mine.

Grab a cup of tea (or whatever tickles your fancy) and let’s get started, shall we?

You’ll never know if you’ll like (or not like) something until you’ve tried it

– My Dad (usually used to get me to eat vegetables)

Random Tidbits:

Boba order: Almond Milk Tea (half sweet) with boba and a side of popcorn chicken

Pizza toppings: sausage and onion (or a supreme pizza if the pizza is from Costco)

Word I don’t think gets used as much as it should: Bamboozled
